Recommended site: Tangential Thoughts

For the thoughts of another Teach for America corps member who has been in the program for the past two years and will be teaching at her TFA-placement site for a third year, check out this blog:

The writer is a friend of mine, a fellow RGV corps member, and an advocate of TFA. Her experiences with the program have been relatively positive, and her perspective may give you further insight into the range of responses teaching elicits.

So, I wanted to comment on your entire blog, and I thought I'd leave a comment on this entry since it is thus far spam free. I'm very sad that you seem to have stopped writing (and may therefore never see this), but I wanted to share some thoughts with you.

Thanks so much for posting your experiences the way you did. While I know many people complain about the lack of TfA criticism, I find plenty; the problem is that most of it is somewhat questionable to the average person.

I love that you chose to focus your blog not on the evils of TfA, but on the fact that the people they are recruiting are not necessarily the people who are right for the program (and that you recognize that some people *are* right for the program).

I still haven't decided whether or not to apply, but regardless of my decision, this has been an invaluable resource. Thanks!
